- Description: The best way to start a habit is to make it small, easy, and connected to your identity. Focus on showing up first, then let consistency build.

I used to think habits failed because of discipline.
**I was wrong.**

Habits fail because we start them the wrong way.

**Here’s the real way habits actually stick:**

### You are not the problem.

You’re not lazy.
You’re not inconsistent.
You’re not “bad at habits.”

You were just asking too much of yourself…
**too soon.**

### Motivation is a trap.

Motivation feels powerful.
But it disappears the moment life gets hard.

**If your habit needs motivation, it will die.**
**If it needs design, it will survive.**

### The best habit feels almost too easy.

Most people start with:

- “1 hour at the gym” → WRONG
- “30 pages a day” → WRONG
- “Daily cold showers” → WRONG

The habits that win start with:

- Put on gym clothes
- Read 1 page
- Step into cold water for 5 seconds

**The goal isn’t progress.**
**The goal is showing up.**

### Make it stupidly small (this is the secret).

A habit should feel:
**“Why wouldn’t I do this?”**

If it feels impressive → it’s too big.
If it feels easy → you’re doing it right.

**Small habits don’t rely on willpower.**
**They bypass it.**

### The habit isn’t the goal. Identity is.

One small action says:
**“I’m the type of person who keeps promises to myself.”**

- One push-up → “I work out”
- One page → “I read”
- One sentence → “I write”

**Every action is a vote for who you’re becoming.**

### Use the 2-minute rule.

Any habit should start in under 2 minutes.

Not to finish it.
**Just to start it.**

Start is what matters.
Once you start, momentum takes over.

### Attach new habits to your real life.

Not your perfect life.
**Your real one.**

After I make coffee → write one sentence
After I brush my teeth → stretch 30 seconds
After I open my laptop → review my goals

**This is called Habit Stacking.**
**It removes decision fatigue.**

### Your environment is shaping you (quietly).

You don’t need more discipline.
**You need fewer obstacles.**

- Gym clothes visible
- Phone notifications off
- Book on your desk
- Junk food out of sight

**Change the room → change the habit.**

### The rule that makes habits unbreakable:

**Never miss twice.**

Miss once? That’s life.
Miss twice? That’s a new habit.

**Consistency isn’t perfection.**
**It’s the speed of your comeback.**

### One day, something shifts.

You stop forcing it.
You stop tracking streaks.

You just do the habit…
**because that’s who you are now.**

That’s when habits stop feeling like work.

### The best way to start a new habit:

Make it so small
**you’d feel silly not doing it.**

That’s not weakness.
**That’s strategy.**

### Save this:

**Start smaller than you think**
**Design your environment**
**Focus on identity**
**Never miss twice**

**This is how habits actually stick.**

**Small action.**
**Big identity shift.**

Thanks for reading ;)
